Sing to the Lord a New Song

The Birth of a Banner

Four panels create a big impression

Sing to the Lord a New Song inspired local artist, Jim Brager and his artistic assistants, Ruth Ofrim and Kim Chamberlain, to produce the dynamic banners that captivate each person entering the convention arena.

Seamstress Marie Brager and banner-hanger Herb Anderson aided in the banner production and presentation.

Three sessions of creative discussion led the artists to ponder the darkness and hopelessness of each one of us until we meet Christ.

Dark colours in the lower banner areas depict that despair. Can you see the distraught seeker reaching up, encouraged by God's woitnesses and then finding Christ? Do you see the contrast of dark colours blend into brighter vivid colours of joy as they raise heavenward? Christ brings peace and happiness and we Sing to the Lord a New Song.

What can you see beyond ordinary wall paint, sturdy vinyl and six hours of brushwork? Can you Sing to the Lord a New Song? Shouldn't Lutherans be joyful?
