Sermon Series 2001

About The 2001 Sermon Series

To assist in the ministry of proclamation, ELCIC Mission engaged pastors in the forefront of mission in our church to share "sermon starters" based on the RCL Gospel texts.

Please note that these are not offered or intended to be sermons. They are offered simply to explore possible preaching themes and assist the preaching task.

This sermon series was inaugurated in January with materials for Epiphany from the seven overseas missionaries of our church. The Lenten series was written by Saskatchewan mission pastors. The Easter series was supplied by mission pastors of the Synod of Alberta and the Territories.

This sermon series was inaugurated in January with materials for Epiphany from the seven overseas missionaries of our church. The Lenten series was written by Saskatchewan mission pastors. The Easter series was supplied by mission pastors of the Synod of Alberta and the Territories.

The studies for Pentecost Sunday are a special English/Spanish bilingual edition representing the new Companion Synod relationship that is growing between the Saskatchewan Synod of the ELCIC and the United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Argentina (IELU). Bishop Allan Grundahl of the SK Synod and President Angel Furlan of IELU are the contributors. Mission Pastor Donald Bolstad of Alberta offers a study for Trinity Sunday, June 10th, after which the series will terminate for the remainder of the Pentecost portion of the church year.

As a new and experimental offering attempting to highlight and interpret the diversity of mission in the ELCIC, it would be helpful in evaluating this series to receive any comments you care to share. Was it helpful for starting sermons? Did it open new doors on mission in our church and world? Would you like to see it continued and re-instated for the Christ-cycle of the church year in Advent? Are you interested in contributing if the series is continued? Please use the e-mail link to share your thoughts!
