PRAYERS FOR FOMGBAMI FAMILY

Winnipeg, May 5, 2003 (ELCIC) – Etienne Fomgbami's younger brother, MAGALIE Robert, died suddenly on Saturday, May 3, 2003 of an apparent heart attack while playing soccer. Robert, age 32, was the Music Director of College Protestant, the high school of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cameroon. As leader of the College's Gospel Singers, he was preparing to travel this summer to the United States where the Gospel Singers have been invited to participate in the ELCA youth gathering.

The Fomgbami family is from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cameroon (EELC) and have been serving as missionaries to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC) since June 2000 under the Good News Partner program of ELCIC Mission in the World.

Etienne and Jeanne Fomgbami were very close to Robert. He was also a very important person for them in providing a connection with family and overseeing their affairs back home in Cameroon while they have been serving in Canada. Robert was to be married on May 17 to Jeanne's niece.

There will be a service to remember Etienne Fomgbami's brother Robert on Tuesday May 6, 7:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberly Ave, Winnipeg.

We remember the Fomgbami family in prayer and share their loss. May God comfort and strengthen them and grant them peace.
