What is Partners in Faith?

Parents, grandparents, godparents, pastors, Sunday school teachers, youth, young adults and others are concerned that children of all ages are given every opportunity to live faithfully in relationship to Jesus Christ and the church. Based on experience and research in Canada and the United States, the ELCIC is convinced that children first learn to live the faith from parents and other caring adults who model faith in the home. If we are to raise faithful children, then we need to support and encourage parents and other adults in their faithfulness to the gospel. The home and the congregation share the privilege and responsibility of nurturing faith so that all the baptized will know the joy of life in Christ.

Partners in Faith is a ministry of the ELCIC that was developed in response to the call from caring individuals and congregations to unite congregations and families as partners in passing on the faith.

Partners in Faith is not a new program to replace what the congregation is already doing. Partners in Faith is a new way to make a connection between church life and home life for all who participate. This is a way to make "faith life" a natural and normal part of everyday life–for the milestones, the daily conversations, family activities, ritual and traditions, and rhythms of relationships in home and congregation.
