Canada Lutheran, the national publication of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, has been recognized with nine awards at the 2025 Canadian Christian Communicators Association (CCCA) awards program held on Friday, May 23.
“I’m so proud of everyone involved in our national publication – our editors, synod editors, graphic designer and contributors,” said Trina Gallop Blank, assistant to the national bishop for communications and resource generation and editorial director for Canada Lutheran. “It’s been inspiring to see the way this team has supported one another, coming together to produce thoughtful, meaningful work. These awards are a recognition of their efforts and ongoing commitment to share the stories of the ELCIC as we respond to the call to be a church, Living out God’s grace and unconditional love.”
The annual CCCA awards program highlights excellence in Christian publication in roughly 30 categories. Entrants are provided with thorough feedback on all submissions by judges.
Award categories include:
- Writing and reporting
- Graphics (photography, artwork, design etc.)
- Public relations (marketing, advertising etc.)
- Online and integrated media (social media posts, podcasts, websites, e-newsletters)
- Student Award (open to post-secondary students of all ages).
- A.C. Forrest Memorial Award for socially conscious religious journalism
Canada Lutheran was named as the honourable mention for the A.C. Forrest Memorial Award, which recognizes excellence in socially conscious religious journalism for its piece, “Faith in Action” by Aiden Kallioinen.
The magazine earned three first-place, two second-place and one third-place finish in a variety of categories, while picking up two additional honourable mentions, alongside the A.C. Forrest recognition.
