As part of the discernment process approved by the ELCIC’s National Church Council in preparation for the upcoming National Convention, ELCIC members were invited to bring forward names of individuals they believe possess the skills and gifts to be called as National Bishop. This period ran from January to the end of March, 2025. Through this process, seven names were submitted. Of these, six individuals discerned that they would like to proceed to the next steps in the process.
