The ELCIC Praise Appeal allows congregations the opportunity to better highlight different aspects of the ministry of the wider church. Designating one Sunday annually, congregations highlight the ELCIC Praise Appeal at a time that works best within their own context.

For 2025, we are lifting up the theme “Rejoicing in Hope” – the theme of our 2025 National Convention. The theme is based around Romans 12:12, “Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; constant in prayer.”

“This year’s theme reminds us that even in uncertain times, we are encouraged to rejoice in hope,” shared ELCIC National Bishop Susan Johnson. “We are facing challenges as a world; as a country; and as a church; but because God is still with us, we have every reason for hope. So let’s gather. Let’s be strengthened in hope and let’s rejoice together.”

As you prepare to hold an ELCIC Praise Appeal Sunday, consider worship resources and prayers that lift up this theme.
