Delegates to the MNO Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada have re-elected Rev. Jason Zinko as Synod Bishop on the first ballot.
Zinko received 59 votes out of a possible 76. A total of 57 votes were required for election.
“Thank you for this show of support and for trusting me with this responsibility,” said Bishop Zinko, who addressed delegates following the results of the ballot. “It’s been a privilege and a gift to serve the MNO Synod. Thank you for walking this journey with me as we continue to be the MNO Synod.”
This will be Zinko’s second term as Synod Bishop. He was first elected to a six-year term in 2018.
