Ecumenical And Interfaith Relations
The work of the Evangelical Lutheran Church (ELCIC) In Mission for Others is enhanced in breadth and depth when we work together with churches within the Lutheran communion, with ecumenical partners across the Christian spectrum, and with people of other faiths. We are enriched in our mission and ministry; our witness is more credible; and our ministry is more effective.

The ELCIC upholds the Lund Principle whereby we do not do alone what we might profitably do together.

The ELCIC is active in the mission and ministry of The Lutheran World Federation, the World Council of Churches, Canadian Council of Churches and KAIROS. Through our partnership with Canadian Lutheran World Relief and their participation in ACT Alliance, the ecumenical work and interfaith witness of the ELCIC is felt in every corner of the globe.
